CVE propose deux types de programmes de renforcement cognitif au travail :

Programme de renforcement au travail dans un contexte communautaire

Programme de renforcement au travail en milieu clinique

Programme de conditionnement cognitif hautement spécialisé qui fait passer l’individu d’une réadaptation standard à un retour au travail en simulant des activités et un environnement de travail dans un environnement structuré, favorable et contrôlé.

Ce programme convient mieux aux personnes qui ont reçu des services physiques ou psychologiques et qui ont besoin de mettre en pratique ou d’apprendre des stratégies supplémentaires dans le cadre d’une thérapie dans un environnement de travail contrôlé et simulé.

Une évaluation initiale est effectuée par un ergothérapeute pour déterminer les tolérances aux activités et aux obstacles survenant dans le milieu de travail. Un programme personnalisé est ensuite formulé, ce dernier comprend un programme systématique d’activités liées au travail et réalisées de manière progressive, dans le but de réhabiliter psychologiquement la personne afin de faciliter son futur retour à l’emploi dans un environnement de travail compétitif. Le programme peut être adapté aux personnes qui ont besoin d’un équipement spécialisé ou d’appareils fonctionnels.

Programme de renforcement au travail dans un contexte communautaire

Sous la direction et la supervision d’un ergothérapeute et d’un conseiller d’orientation professionnelle, un employeur est sélectionné dans la communauté pour aider à améliorer les compétences professionnelles d’un individu sur le lieu de travail en lui permettant de mettre ses compétences en pratique dans un milieu de travail réel.

Ce programme convient mieux aux personnes qui ont suivi toutes les thérapies traditionnelles et qui ont besoin de plus de temps pour développer leur tolérance physique, cognitive et/ou psychologique.

Les employeurs sont choisis en fonction des similitudes avec les tâches et les responsabilités que l’individu avait avant l’accident. Ce programme offre à l’individu la possibilité de faire des activités liées à son travail avant de s’engager dans un programme de retour progressif au travail avec l’employeur pour lequel il travaillait avant l’accident. Ce programme convient aussi aux personnes pour lesquelles un retour progressif au travail n’est pas possible auprès deleur employeur.
